Privacy
What we keep, why we keep it, and how to have it removed. Plain words, no small print.
What we keep
- Without an account: a random device code (a cookie) so today's puzzles know what you finished, and your provisional rating and recent results in this browser's own storage. Nothing that names you.
- With a free account: your display name, email address, timezone, an optional password (stored only as a one-way hash), your daily results, focused-test answers (right or wrong and time taken), your coach plan and training programs.
- Usage events: which pages and features are used (for example "the growth chart was viewed"), so we can tell what helps. They never contain your birthday, answers you typed or anything you wrote to someone.
- No advertising, no third-party trackers. Games140 shows no ads and loads no tracking or advertising scripts. Fonts come from Google Fonts.
Your birthday
Optional. It is used to compare you with players your age, and it is never shown to anyone. It is stored encrypted, separately from the rest of your account, and every screen shows it masked (•• / •• / year) unless you choose "Show" in Settings. Our analytics see only your age group (13–17, 18–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70+), never the date. Comparisons appear only when at least 50 real players in your group have played that area. You can delete your birthday at any time in Settings; age comparisons then stop.
Players aged 13 to 17, and their parents
Accounts are for people 13 and over. If a birthday shows someone is under 13, no account is created and nothing they typed is kept; they can still play every daily game without an account.
For players aged 13 to 17 (worked out from the birthday, and updated automatically on their 18th birthday):
- They can join private groups by invite link only, and cannot join public groups.
- Only people in one of their invite-only groups can find them, challenge them or message them. They cannot be found by name by anyone else, and there is no public profile.
- Their name never appears on leaderboards, and challenges they create stay inside their groups, shown with their initial.
- Reminder emails and product news are off unless they turn them on themselves.
- We do not ask for a phone number or a location.
- The optional weekly coach note is kept to practice habits, with no talk of dating, money or medical topics, and it is never a chat.
For parents and guardians
You can ask us to delete a 13 to 17 year old's account. Tell us the account's display name or email and an email address we can reply to. The request goes straight to the owner of Games140.
Something wrong?
Use Report a problem from any group or challenge screen, or from here. Reports go to the owner console and are read by a person.
